Sierra-At-Tahoe offers over 2,000′ vertical feet of snow riding awesome. While 50% of the mountain is covered in quality intermediate terrain, the steep stuff is sure to please as well. The tree skiing is pretty epic at Sierra as well, with perfectly spaced Red Fir trees left standing after the lumber and mining rushes in the 1800’s. The expert riders will also want to check out the Huckleberry Bowl area and Gates, which offer up steep and technical terrain. What really sets Sierra apart from the other Tahoe area resorts is the dedication to freestyle terrain, as the mountain offers up 5 terrain parks that have something for every rider. Some seriously world-class freestyle athletes call Sierra home, due to their dedication to freestyle terrain, and lots of it! The super pipe, boardercross and “The Alley” terrain park are sure to please the hard-core riders out there.
Tips:
–Divided Sky is close to the mountain and offers up good brews, affordable quality eats and a great local vibe. Great apres ski stop.
-The Burton Star Wars Experience at Sierra just might be the cutest thing you’ll ever see. It is an intro to snowboard experience for 3-6 yr olds with a very cool Star Wars theme.

Sadly I only had a day to shoot at Sierra due to a back injury. I’m stoked with what I got to experience in a very short time frame. Sierra has some great inbound hiking terrain and is truly world-class when it comes to its terrain parks. I can’t wait to get back to Sierra to explore more and throw down on the amazing freestyle terrain. -Bryon Dorr
