Features: slash proof strap, easy tripod screw attachment, secondary retention camera attachment, 360 degree rotating camera lug, free moving slider on strap, ergo shoulder pad, built-in storage on shoulder pad for small camera accessoriesHow can you go wrong with a camera strap that is super comfortable to wear, allows you to get the camera into shooting position quickly and wards off would be thieves? The PacSafe CarrySafe 150 Sling Camera Strap does all of this in a tidy little package for a great price.
The boomerang shaped padded shoulder strap is super comfortable and really lessens the fatigue of lugging around a large DSLR camera. I find that a sling style strap like this one is WAY more comfortable for a long day of shooting than the neck style straps that come with most DSLR. The folds of material on the shoulder strap are designed to hold lens caps, cleaning cloths, extra memory cards and other small accessories. While this is a nice little feature I find that I rarely use it, as these small items usually end up in my pants or jacket pockets for quick access and to keep them out-of-the-way.
The biggest advantage of this strap for me as an action, travel and event photographer is that the slide mechanism allows me to quickly and effortlessly get the camera into shooting position, helping ensure that I don’t miss that special moment. The swivel mount that attaches to the bottom of the camera also provides for restriction free shooting, allowing you to get that perfect angle without fighting with the strap. Besides all the comfort and shooting benefits that this strap offers it also offers complete security. The strap itself is reinforced with stainless steel wire, making it slash proof. This inspires a great deal of confidence when carrying your expensive DSLR around a crowded event or while traveling in foreign lands. To top it off it has a backup strap that attaches to the normal shoulder strap attachments on your DSLR, just in case the tripod screw mount loosens and comes off. This little feature has saved me on numerous occasions as I tend to only hand tighten the tripod screw attachment and have found that with lots of use it does loosen up and can fall off. One draw back for bearded users is that the metal slide tends to grab a pile of beard when the camera is brought to your face, and then trys to remove that pile of beard when lowered. Beard life problems 😉
It’s crazy to me how little info, video or reviews I could find on this strap online, even though it is carried at a ton of major camera, luggage and outdoor retailers. I find that crazy because this strap is awesome! I hope my review has peaked your interest and you check out this camera carrying solution. The PacSafe CarrySafe 150 Sling Camera Strap is a staple in my camera system and I’m pretty sure it will become one in yours as well if you give it a try.
