Jackcovers.com Hi-Lift jack covers
This is going to be a short review. There isn’t much to get in-depth about. If you have a Hi-Lift and store it on the exterior of your vehicle you are going to want to protect the jack’s mechanism from the elements, reducing rust and corrosion that can create hazardous conditions when using the jack. There are two basic options on the market, the Hi-Lift Neoprene Jack Cover ($25) or the Jackcover ($50-60). You are going to want to “buy once, cry once” as they say.
(This Hi-Lift cover looked like this after only a few months, but managed to hold on for about 14.)
There is a reason for the price difference, it boils down to longevity, protection and looks. The Hi-Lift brand cover is made of neoprene that is relatively quickly destroyed by UV and road debris. The Jackcover is made with of a dual layer material, consisting of neoprene on the inside and a durable UV resistant marine grade vinyl on the outside. The Jackcover also utilizes a much beefier zipper and has a drain grommet that keeps water from pooling in the cover if stored vertically, like it is on the EEXP. Besides the much more durable construction, the Jackcover can also be customized to look just right on your vehicle, with over 20+ color options to choose from. To top it off the Jackcover is made in America. In the end, you are going to want a Hi-Lift on your overland adventuremobile, and you are going to want it to work when you need to use it. In order for it to operate safely it needs to remain lubed up and rust free. A jack cover is what you need to protect it from the elements. The new Jackcover is the right product to do this, and upgrades the look of your ride in the process. (Disclaimer: Jackcover provided Exploring Elements with a custom jack cover for review.)
